DR. D. JAYNE'S EXPECTORANT
bottle from Philadelphia, PA. Dating between 1840-1860, this bottle is aqua in color and stands 6-3/4" tall by 2-5/8" wide. It is blown in mold and has an applied tapered lip, short neck, smooth panels, crude non-symmetrical features, wavy, irregular glass surfaces, pot stones throughout (no radiating spider cracks), a large entrapped air bubble in the shoulder and a tubular open pontil in the center of the base. It is horizontally embossed on the front and rear panel(s) and reads as follows:

This early open pontil eight sided medicine bottle is in outstanding condition with no cracks, chips or damage besides a little light haze.
