    As the slogan implies, "NO DOPE".   At the beginning of the 20th Century (1900) the government had started to crack down on patent medicine products that had dope ( opium - morphine - cocaine - heroin - etc. ) in them.  The public was becoming aware of it as well as intolerant to being taken advantage of, so the 'No Dope' embossing was a step towards social responsibility, at least by this company, the one that bottled this cough syrup.
