About Mel Marcelo:
I've been an illustrator since 1991 and I've loved every minute of it. My work spans editorial pieces (Newsweek covers) to adverstising campaigns (Oakley 2007). I've worked extensively in the apparel industry with my start at Mossimo in 1992. Since I love to work in fashion and lifestyle, I stay active with running and keeping up with the music scene (I DJ on the side for fun). My work is mainly vector since it keeps the illustrations very modern and tightly drawn. My inspirations range from Japanese woodcut prints to Patrick Nagel. My current work is mainly photo driven with a focus on portraiture and the human body.
