Description

Durable, lightweight thermoformed polymer, this new design provides more nesting holes per dollar; wood nesting blocks .00 per nesting cavity, our new lightweight design .38 cents per nesting cavity.
Attach with Velcro (not included) vertically or horizontally to patio post, fence post, or under the eave of your house or patio shed, anywhere they will get some morning sun. They improve upon anything that has come before, while providing a cleanable and reusable Mason bee nesting so critical to long-term success. After each season you must remove your Mason Bee cocoons and clean the Mason Bee nesting site, it is super easy to do with these reusable Mason Bee nesting blocks.
These nesting trays have the following advantages: 1. They are waterproof thereby preventing moisture and mold development. 2. They provide protection from predator wasps and birds. If you use Kraft paper nesting tubes, your mason bees are not protected from predator wasps and Kraft paper tubes are a bitc* to clean. 3. These nesting trays can be cleaned in minutes. If you don't clean them the following year you'll lose your bees to mold and pollen mites. Bamboo tubes are safer but even harder to clean, and neither are reusable, these nesting trays are reusable. 4. They are light and easy to carry and handle. 5.  12 nesting tunnels for our wooden blocks and 40 for a two-tier system.
Two options to choose from, 40 nesting cavities, 60 nesting cavities, and 60 nesting cavities with an observation deck, so you can watch your bees at work. See what color mud they are using, and where it is coming from, how many babies per nesting cavity, and are they laying males or females, great education tool for children or adults.
This type of nesting arrangement was developed as a result of long-term tests and verified in field conditions. Using the same nesting trays in many consecutive breeding seasons is a basic advantage.
The nesting trays are made of thermoforming polymer. The trays when put together have two-ply sidewalls along the nest channels enabling temperature stabilization inside the nests. The optimum length and the diameter of nest channels are adapted to the mason bee females' requirements while laying eggs. Dimensions of nest channels: diameter 8 mm, length 14 cm.
