    Condition
:   This bottle is good clean condition.  It was found along a creek bed and it does still retain some wear and haze from lying in the creek bed for a century of time.   It also has a chip from back side of lip and an impact ding on the back base, both of these are on the back side.  Other than this it is fine, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc.   See pictures for idea of overall condition

    domestic shipping,
    includes
insurance.   We do ship International but we do NOT insure International orders unless buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance estimate.  If an international shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates.  We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time.
These old CITRATE of MAGNESIA bottles are a category of collecting in themselves and are usually found in this cylinder shape and size.  BUT,
only a few of them are colored
, most often they are clear, colorless glass or aqua in color
    .
Sometime ago we purchased a bottle collection that had a handful of SUN DRUG CO. bottles in it including green poisons, green citrates, and clear embossed bottles.
There were a few of these citrates in the standard emerald green color but
the choice piece of the collection was this OLIVE tinted
emerald green bottle which was unique
.   It may not appear pure olive green in the pictures but when it is placed next to one of the standard emerald green citrates, it shows
    very
olive.   bottles came with an interesting
    provenance
, they were all dug from the banks of the Los Angeles River many decades ago.   From conversations with the person who dug the bottles, we got a map of present day
Los Angeles, which shows the area that the river used to flow through and where the bottles were found.  The river is no more, it has been filled in, covered over, and paved.  It was in a downtown section of that city (t
he exact spot seems to be under a large UPS parking facility)
and there were many prime bottles that were found in this area.   Anyway, it was a nice collection that also had maybe 100 owl drug bottles, several cobalt blue, some amber, and milk glass, also a large rare BRECKLIEN poison bottle, and many other misc bottles.   Anyway,
this is a very attractive bottle, not just on account of the
    OLIVE
GREEN color but also the embossing is pretty spectacular, an e
mbossed picture of a "winged" druggists' mortar and "radiance" shining off of it
.   The SUN DRUG was a Southern California company based out of Los Angeles, the first store opened around 1901 on Broadway in Los
Angeles. From what we can figure, they sold out to the Owl Drug Company in the 1920's as we have had embossed Sun Drug bottles with Owl Drug Co. labels, from about this time. Also this is a WESTERN bottle which also attracts bottle collectors who live out west and collect bottles from the OLD WEST,
    check it out!
