THE NEW YORK YANKEES - PROGRAM SIGNED CO-SIGNED BY: MARIANO RIVERA, JOE GIRARDI, RUBEN RIVERA - HFSID 276676
NEW YORK YANKEES (1996): MARIANO RIVERA, JOE GIRARDI and RUBEN RIVERA
Three members of the '96 Champs sign a World Series program.
    Program signed:
    "Mariano Rivera", "Joe Girardi"
    and
    "Ruben Rivera"
, 8¼x10¾, matted and framed to an overall size of 13½x16½. Official Program of the 1996 World Series, signed on front cover. The 1996 Yankees won the American League pennant with a record of 92-70, blew through the Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles in the AL playoffs, and then defeated the Atlanta Braves - victors of the 1995 series - in six games.
    JOE GIRARDI
caught 120 regular series games for the Yankees in 1996, hitting .294. This was the first of his four years in Yankee pinstripes during a 15-year Major League career (19989-2003).
On October 30, 2007 he was hired as the new manager of the New York Yankees after the Yankees had fired long time manager Joe Torre. Girardi chose 27 as his jersey number in the hopes that the team would win their 27th championship.
During his second year managing the Yankees the team would win their 40th AL pennant and 27th World Series title.
He has since changed his jersey number to 28.
    RUBEN RIVERA
hit .284 and slugged .443 in a reserve role for the 1996 Yankees. He didn't play in the World Series that year, but faced off against his former teammates, playing now for San Diego, in the 1998 Series. His Major League career took him to five ball clubs between 1995 and 2003.
    MARIANO RIVERA
was already a mainstay of the Yankees bullpen in 1996. The following year, he took over the closer's role, made the All-Star team for the first of 8 times through 2006, and earned plaudits as one of the greatest closers in baseball history. Fine condition.
Not framed in the Gallery of History style.
Not reviewed by us for conservation integrity. "As is" framing purchase.
